Phase 0 – Consultation and Individual Planning
The treatment path at UGRS does not begin with an operation, but with a personal conversation. Interested parties can contact us by phone, email, or in person – discreetly and completely without obligation.
In the consultation, we take the time to develop a comprehensive picture of your situation together with you. This begins with a look at your individual starting situation and anatomy, on the basis of which we can clarify which method or combination of procedures might fundamentally make sense for you. It is equally important to us to work out realistic expectations for the result together, so that you have a well-founded basis for your decision. We also review your health prerequisites and possible contraindications, and of course answer all open questions about the procedure, risks, and costs.
Only once all questions have been clarified and we jointly conclude that a procedure makes sense for you is a surgery date planned. At no point is there any pressure – and no fixed next step to fear. You decide at your own pace.
For patients from abroad, the procedure can generally be combined well with a one- to two-day stay in the Rhine-Main region. Darmstadt is conveniently located right next to Frankfurt am Main and its international airport, which makes travel uncomplicated.
Phase 1 – The Day of Surgery
Arrival and Admission
You come to the aegz. Klinik in Darmstadt on the day of the procedure. After a final preliminary discussion and preparation, the procedure begins.
Anesthesia
The anesthesia method used is a combination of twilight sleep and local anesthesia. You sleep gently without fully losing consciousness – general anesthesia is not required. This method is gentler on the circulatory system and allows for a faster recovery.
Surgery
The procedure usually takes about 70 minutes. With combined penis lengthening and girth enhancement, both procedures are performed in a single session. The sutures are self-dissolving – a separate appointment for suture removal isn't needed.
Discharge
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis: you leave us the same day. An overnight hospital stay is not required. Please plan to either be picked up, arrange a taxi, or book an overnight stay in a hotel – driving yourself is not possible on the day of surgery.
Time Off Work
For office-based or sedentary work, no time off is required. Those who do physically demanding work should plan for three days off.
Phase 2 – The First Days After Surgery
In the first seven days after the procedure, rest and careful wound care are the priority, so the healing process can proceed undisturbed.
In this phase, certain reactions commonly occur that are completely normal and no cause for concern. These include swelling in the surgical area, a certain feeling of tightness, and minor bruising that can form as part of wound healing. Mild tenderness in the treated area is also not unusual during this time. As a rule, these reactions subside noticeably within a few days, so the condition improves noticeably from day to day.
If, on the other hand, severe pain, fever, or worsening redness occurs, please contact us immediately so we can assess the situation promptly.
Recommendations for the First Days
- Physical rest – no sporting activities
- No sexual activity
- Snug-fitting underwear for support and stabilization
- Careful wound care according to the instructions provided
- No alcohol in the first few days
Phase 3 – The Healing Phase
In the first five to seven weeks after the procedure, wound healing progresses noticeably. Most patients can resume their normal daily activities after just a few days, but should continue to follow certain recommendations during this phase in order not to jeopardize the healing process.
Office work and everyday activities are generally possible again from the third day after the procedure. From the second week onward, light walks are also possible, and from the third week, light endurance exercise – such as gentle walking – is permitted in moderation.
Some activities, however, should still wait. Sport and physically strenuous activities are not intended to resume until the end of the fifth week, as are sexual activity and intercourse. We advise against visiting swimming pools, saunas, and hot tubs until the wound has fully healed, since moisture and heat can impair the healing process during this time.
Phase 4 – Stabilization and Aftercare
Depending on your individual situation and the method used, the use of a stretching device may be recommended from around week 3 to 4 onward. It supports the alignment of the tissue during the healing phase and can positively influence the result. You will receive the exact recommendation as part of your aftercare.
Structured aftercare is a fixed part of our treatment concept. Where necessary, we arrange follow-up appointments to monitor the course of healing and respond if needed. Patients from abroad receive clear instructions on what to watch for themselves and when to get in touch.
Phase 5 – The Final Result
The final result does not develop immediately after the procedure – but over the course of 3 to 6 months. This is particularly important to know with girth enhancement using the patient's own fat: some of the fat tissue introduced is broken down by the body within the first few weeks. This is anticipated and biologically normal. That's why more is introduced from the start than would be needed for the target result.
After about three to six months, the result is fully stable. Only then should a final assessment be made.
Patience during this phase is not a drawback – it is part of the treatment's success.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Procedure
Yes. Since twilight sleep is used, a fasting rule of several hours before the procedure applies. You will receive the exact instructions in writing beforehand.
No. On the day of surgery, you may neither drive yourself nor use public transport alone. Please arrange for someone to accompany you or book a taxi.
Short trips (e.g., a return flight abroad) are generally possible from the second day after the procedure. Longer flights should not take place until after the first week. We discuss this individually with you.
Initial changes are visible shortly after the procedure – though overlaid by swelling. A realistic interim result becomes visible after four to six weeks. The final, stable result after three to six months.
